Bellbrook High School

Welcome to the Pre-Engineering Department!

Project Lead the Way's (PLTW) pre-engineering program was introduced in the 2007-08 school year. It is centered on a pre-college engineering curriculum and practical applications of theory to prepare students for future successful engineering careers. Students who complete four years of these pre-engineering courses may be eligible to receive college credit from many schools across the country, including:

The Ohio State University

The University of Dayton
Purdue University
Rochester Institute of Technology
The University of Tennessee

Students choosing to take less than four years of our PLTW classes may receive college credit from various two year schools. Articulation agreements have been made with the following schools in Ohio Sinclair Community College, Rhodes State, Stark State, and Loraine County Community College.

The student may later have the opportunity to transfer these college credits to a four year school. Visit http://www.pltwohio.org/pltw_paths.cfm for specific information on college credit opportunities that are available at Ohio's post-secondary schools.

This year Bellbrook High School will offer the four foundation courses: Introduction to Engineering Design (IED), Principles of Engineering (POE), Digital Electronics (DE) and Engineering Design and Development (EDD). We will also offer one specialized course: Civil Engineering & Architecture. Any high school student wishing to explore a career in engineering is encouraged to sample these pre-engineering classes. In addition, the High School recently added a Biomedical course designed by PLTW as well. This can be found on the Science Department's page.
