I graduated from the University of Dayton in 1970 –worked as a children’s librarian and then taught in private schools until coming to Bellbrook in 1978. I was the cheerleading coach and yearbook advisor as well as an English teacher when I first came. I am presently chair of the English department and teach AP Language to seniors. When I first came to Bellbrook, I was asked by the principal Steve Rhoades to direct a non-musical play so that kids who didn’t sing or dance could also have a chance to do theater. I directed my first fall show in 1980 and did makeup and lights for the musicals. I took over the musical program in 1985. When we moved into this building I added the third show to allow more kids to participate and to allow serious actors to do a different level of work. (Check out theater information on the school's website under "Clubs"). I also site manage the theater which is one of the best facilities in the area and is used by a number of outside groups.
