2024 8th Grade Scheduling Presentation

Upperclassmen Scheduling Presentation

24-25 Scheduling timeline:

February 8 – HS counselors at BMS to talk to 8th graders about scheduling 

Feb 15th - Curriculum Night (your chance to talk to teachers about courses being offered next year) 

Feb 27 - 10th and 9th graders scheduling meetings and complete graduation plans

Feb 28 - 11th graders scheduling meeting and complete graduation plans during homeroom

Mar 5th - 8th graders input course requests with HS counselors

Mar 6th  – Deadline for all students to input course requests online  


Curriculum Night: 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm Department tables set-up in the hallway outside the gym, 5:30 pm - Scheduling Q&A session (8th grade parents highly encouraged to attend), 6:30 pm - mandatory CCP meeting.  All students will be given a scheduling form that must be signed by a parent and turned back in to homeroom teachers no later than March 6th.  


No schedule changes will be made after the first day of school! Schedules will hopefully be distributed at the end of May. Students who wish to make a schedule change must complete the change before school starts in August!

Graduation Requirements

Students must do three things in order to receive their diplomas: 

1. Earn the required course credits

2. Show competency on state tests for ELA and Algebra 1 (competency is based on test score)

3. Earn at least 2 diploma seals 

Students can contact their counselor if they have questions regarding course credits and/or competency scores.
