BELLBROOK CHESS EAGLES Intermediate and Middle School Chess Club
On Saturday, February 13th, 2010, four top area high school chess teams participated in the 51st Annual Greater Dayton High School Chess League Championship. The teams represented Beavercreek High, Bellbrook High, Kettering Fairmont High, and the Miami Valley School. The top two schools from each of the two divisions played at the Dayton Chess Club at 18 West Fifth Street in downtown Dayton.
After 3 rounds of all day play, Beavercreek won all 3 matches but Bellbrook managed to break their no loss streak during the final 3rd round. Bellbrook HS Chess Team came in second after beating Kettering Fairmont and Miami Valley high schoolsin this yearly competition. Not bad, for a 2 year old chess team.
Thurgood Marshall vs. Bellbrook HS - 1/2 - 41/2 - BHS is winner.
Bellbrook HS vs. Miami Valley School - 4 -1 - BHS is winner.
BHS is one of four teams to meet on February 13th for the Montgomery County HS League at the Dayton Chess Club.
