Tips for a safe return to school- Handwashing

Posted Wednesday, August 12, 2020

District Families,

It will take all of us working together in order to protect ourselves and others and allow for a safe return to school. The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus. If your child is not feeling well or has a fever, do NOT send them to school. Please talk with your child(ren) about the following things so that we can all help to slow the spread.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

  • Maintain good social distance (about 6 feet). This is very important in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

  • Vigilantly Assess for symptoms.

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a mask when around others.

Handwashing is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your family from getting sick. Click on the link to learn more about how germs spread, key times to wash hands, steps on how to wash your hands, and using hand sanitizer when you can’t use soap and water. We will have hand sanitizer readily available but we also highly encourage students to bring his/her own hand sanitizer.
