With the departure of Donnie Phelps as the principal at Bell Creek Intermediate, Dr. Terress Monroe will take the top spot at the Grade 3-5 building beginning in the 2024-25 school year.
Monroe comes to the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek School District with eight years of experience as a principal in the Dayton Public School District, spending the last four years as the principal at Edison Elementary and the four years prior to that as the assistant principal at Belle Haven Elementary.
Dr. Monroe is expected to be approved by the Board of Education at the regularly scheduled August 8 meeting.
“I am excited for the opportunity to be in the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek School District – to be part of a Five-Star District that is still focused on making gains,” Dr. Monroe said. “I am honored to be here.”
Dr. Monroe earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Mental Health from Northern Kentucky University, a Master of Education from University of Cincinnati and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management from Capella University. In the little bit of time she has to relax, Dr. Monroe enjoys trying to figure out which home families will pick on House Hunters or Love it or List it.

Dr. Monroe and her husband have been married for 21 years and live in the West Chester area with two children, ages 19 and 13.
