Cross country is a long-distance running sport. Athletes race 3.1 miles across grass, dirt, gravel, and sometimes a little asphalt. Runners can score points for the team based on their finishing position- in cross country, the lowest total number of points determines which team is the winner.
Cross country is first and foremost a TEAM sport. Every student-athlete has the ability to impact the team. Runners are encouraged to work together on race day to achieve the best possible result for the team.

While only the top 7 runners score points during a meet, every runner is running to try to improve their position or achieve a goal or personal best. We're an inclusive sport- if you're willing to work hard, run, and have fun, then cross country is the sport for you!
