This page is run by Henry S. Conte, the Parent/Community Engagement and CommunicationsCoordinator. Henry started with the district in August 2022, shortly after the position was created.

The position handles incoming media requests and press releases, as well as engagement opportunities of all sorts with the community, including district-wide outgoing messages via Remind or other various forms of communication.

A main focus of the position is social media and photography, as well as being the main writer for 
The Bridge, which is delivered to each home in the district three to four times each year.

Eagle Eggs, a weekly newsletter, also is a priority. Eagle Eggs contains announcements, special events and flyers, which are posted to the website and disseminated to parents throughout the district. Please submit all flyers to [email protected] for inclusion in Eagle Eggs.

The website, which has been under construction and will continue to be updated, also is under the purview of the position.

Henry was born and raised in Rochester, N.Y. and graduated from Wittenberg University. He was a long-time, award-winning journalist, starting his career with the Urbana Citizen before moving onto the Xenia Gazette and running the sports pages for the Xenia, Fairborn and Beavercreek papers for a few years. From there he enjoyed a long tenure in sports at the Troy Daily News before moving on to the Bucyrus Telegraph-Forum to take on a news assignment as the lead-reporter. He then took over as the local editor at the Newark Advocate for about two years. His final job in newspapers was as the Regional Sports Editor for 10 local papers throughout Ohio, including Port Clinton, Fremont, Bucyrus, Marion, Mansfield, Newark, Lancaster, Zanesville, Coshocton and Chillicothe. He did several years in corporate communications before finding his way to Bellbrook, where he loves the challenge of the day-to-day school operations.
His wife is a Bellbrook graduate. They live in the Dayton area with their two children.

Our culture is the heart of our school system. It makes Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Schools a special place to learn and work, and it gives us a unique advantage. 

Building and sustaining this culture requires intentional effort from everyone in the district. 

The culture blueprint is part of that effort. 

Culture is not a document that hangs on the wall. Culture is what we believe, how we behave and the experience our behavior produces for others. It is the foundation on which our education community is built. Written statements help clarify the culture, but documents don’t build culture … our actions do. 

Our core beliefs provide the standards for how we behave toward each other, our students and our community. Because culture shapes behavior, it determines how effectively we execute our mission. Success depends on our ability to collaborate and educate in a constantly changing environment, and culture aligns everyone in the district around a common set of beliefs and behaviors that ultimately determine how we prepare our students for the future. 

Culture drives our behaviors. Behaviors produce results.
