Tips for a safe return to school - Social Distancing

Posted Wednesday, August 12, 2020

District Families,

It will take all of us working together in order to protect ourselves and others and allow for a safe return to school. The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. If your child is not feeling well or has a fever, do NOT send them to school. Please talk with you child(ren) about the following things so that we can all help to slow the spread.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

  • Maintain good social distance (about 6 feet). This is very important in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

  • Vigilantly Assess for symptoms.

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a mask when around others.

Social distancing, also called “physical distancing,” means keeping a safe space between yourself and other people who are not from your household.

To practice social or physical distancing, stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people who are not from your household in both indoor and outdoor spaces. If possible, maintain 6 feet between the person who is sick and other household members.
